Sewing and Driving

This past weekend was a close friends wedding and I had purchased a dress a couple months ago from Hapa Collective. I have been saving this dress and was sooo excited to wear it, but my cute little vintage dress had some not so cute issues, typical when buying vintage. I had bought it knowing I needed to fix somethings....but you know I got it for a discount!!
And since I do every thing last minute, I was stuck sewing my dress on the way to the wedding! Luckily the wedding was almost 2 hours away so I had time to get the dress in tip top shape.
It was such a cute vintage dress but the hooks needed to be re-sewn and the sleeves did not fit me. I guess woman had skinnier wrists back in the day?!? Simple fixes!!

My supplies{very fancy, I know}
The thread I had was not a totally match but it worked. Plus the thread was vintage so it kinda went with the dress.
Here is the back of the dress, there are little hooks and threading that would keep them together but the loop of threading was ripped
So being the resourceful person that I am I found the perfect hair clip that would work so I could sew the loop over it.

{DONT JUDGE MY NAILS}
Everything was going great- then I moved onto adjusting the size of the wrist and I lost my perfect little clip and spent 5 minutes trying to find it. But you can only look so much when your are strapped in and I had to settle with another clip I found in my car. But this clip did not work as good as the other one and by this time I was starting to get a little car sick form looking down.
You can see I had to open the sleeve up quite a bit... I have round wrists I guess....
Just a minor rip in the shoulder.

Arrived to the wedding minutes before the bride waked down the isle and yes she look AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL. Ashley and her husband did the photos, her website and blog are here.

Don't I have beautiful friends???

They also had a photo booth at the wedding, which I highly recommend for any event, cause they are SO fun! These are the only photos I have of me in the dress, and you cant see all of it but take my word it was pretty.

You have to have a little fun, right?

If i tried to sew and drive it would be a disaster. Like me and a hot glue gun...they just dont mix. Nice work on the dress girl! You looked gorgeous.
