Raised Garden

Now this is something I have been wanting to do forever, but of course we don't have the space for a raised garden. So then I dreamed about my raised garden and dream about it until one day my parents decided to sell there jacuzzi in the back yard, revealing a perfect square patch of land that was scream "build a raised garden on me!"
So at last my dreams of a raised garden are now a reality.

Home Depot has pre-made raised garden beds that require limited drilling and are easy to put together. We planned on building one on our own but the pre-made ones are much more cost effective.

See the prefect spot for a raised garden! Already had the gravel and bricks!
I think the set cost around $40 at Home Depot.
Then you just start fitting it together- kind like lincoln logs.
And in the end you will have a perfect square. The great thing about these is that you can add to them by just buying another set if you want to make your garden bigger.

The boys decided they wanted gaps between the slats.
I was making lunch but I didn't forget to bring them out some water for all there hard work, it was a hot one this weekend!

Then you start filling it up!

I am still so excited about this garden, the possibilities are endless. I will keep you guys updated on what we are growing. Pray we don't kill every thing we plant!

Labor-less Weekend

Ahhhhhhh a 3 day weekend, how nice.

We did some gardening and planted some more succulents- yes it seems we are on a succulent crazy out our house. I think it is because they are easier to maintain and we like easy!
Our neighbor was moving out and she had gave us a couple pots of succulents.
We called over my brother and sister and shared the succulent wealth with them.

As you can see some of the plants that are not succulents and we killed...

The great thing about succulents is the little spouts, called babies, that you can replant really easily.

We found these little flower boxes at a flea market for 2.50 each- perfect for baby succulents.

Our neighbor gave us the big round pot too!

All in all it was a great weekend!! More exciting things happened that  I will be posting about later this week!
