remembrance

This week has been a week of remembrance.

My dearest grandmother went to be with the Lord at the end of August and her funeral was this past weekend. She was one of the most giving people I have ever known. She is technically my "foster grandmother" but I wouldn't dare call her that. She has always been my grandmother and will always be my grandmother. My grandma took my mom in when she was a young rebel teenager. So as you can see she is the real deal when it comes to opening your heart and home to others.

Her life story is so empowering and hearing how my grandmother touched so many lives was so inspiring for me. We had everyone at the funeral write their last words of love to my grandmother and we tied them to balloons. It was was a wonderful way to say goodbye.

This weekend, as we all know, was the 10 year anniversary of 9/11.
My family and I went to a 9/11 Memorial service held by our church.
We also watched a documentary on ABC that was very somber and informative. 9/11 is still effecting the first responders who saved lives that day.

My heart is broken for all and any affected by that day.

Thank you for the balloon pic and beautiful comment. I am going to miss her so much. It was a beautiful day though and you and the Herz Family made it all the better. I love you. xoxo
